Went to see a show Tuesday in Birmingham

We had seats just near the front on the left as you look at the picture. Went along with Robin, Diana and, met Bill there who was lovely and got the tickets for us.

Having seen the film and loved it I was nervous about the play, I thought it might have lost something from the film adaptation. A strange thought really seeing as when I watched the film I was convinced they could barely have changed anything from the stage play except expand on some of the sets. Thankfully there was nothing missing, it was all there and in full colour too!

It would have been nice to stay for drinks afterwards but, it’s Birmingham, not exactly just around the corner. As it was we had to make a detour as they’d closed part of our route to roadworks so it took some time to get back. Even so, an evening out socialising over a shandy with others who turn up is quite appealing.

I’ve managed to get through some quite long days even on this medication but am still working on it, sometimes I just get too exhausted. I am aware that I am having my senses dulled so, this isn’t a cure, it’s just enabling me to cope with my situations well to hopefully get myself on the right path and then I can stop the medication because I’d have kicked the butts of my demons!

Am ploughing through Stargate SG1 and am now midway of season 4 … there are 10 seasons. Enjoying it but also noticing things I don’t think I’d have noticed had I been leaving larger gaps between episodes. Just silly things really, totally don’t matter. I’ve also noticed just how annoying the backing music is to many of the scenes. Each race has their own style, much of it sounds like Bejewelled. (This is not a good thing)

Yes, I know, the car needs cleaning, I also have two letters which need posting, gas and electric meters to read but, sod it, I am having the weekend off and relaxing. Unless he’s planned to go with anyone else I may join Sean in town tomorrow, not been for a while, might be OK. We’re out at the Toby on Sunday lunchtime, should be good if a little busy.

Wishing I was somewhere nice and hot with someone special but, being broke isn’t much helping with that one. Fingers crossed for later this year if I can without getting in debt.

Well, bed time I think, pillows still impressing me

Budget Day

So, we have the ‘Let’s buy a whole host of gullible voters day’ with George Osborne. No doubt we’ll be told how employment is rising, how the deficit is falling, how we’re all so much better off now than we were (compared to what?). We’ll be told that there are still tough times ahead but that only a Conservative government can steer us through them. It will be pointed out how inflation remains low, how not raising duty on fuel has helped everyone as is seen by the current lower prices at the pumps (it’s going up again George). In short, I should listen to this budget later and decide to vote Conservative in May but, I won’t. Labour certainly did nothing to avoid the mess the country got in but they didn’t cause it. They made the mistake of trying to be too conservative, allowing high finance the freedom to cause a catastrophic cock up for which they took zero responsibility. They made the mistake of allowing Gordon Brown to take the job of Prime Minister, one for which he is totally...

Oh dear

The good news is that it could possibly be Jermaine will be moved into his lovely new flat within 6 weeks. Matt is another story. His apology earlier was rather pathetic. He's still not really said sorry to either Daisy or Deej and, indeed, seems to think saying sorry to anyone is more important than being with his mates. He has a set of rules now, in writing and he's been told that if he deviates from it just once he best have somewhere else to live. We shall see. I don't hold out much hope but there is still a little inside of me, I need to believe there is good in him ... for now. Car - still not sold Looked at Nick's new place the other day. It's small but not so much as I feared it may be and could be made to look real nice with a little effort and thought. I know how I'd do it but it's up to Nick how he does it and I am looking forward to seeing the end result. Loads of work still to do at Robin's of course but at least he is up and running again o...

Totally Bonkers

That's me ... but in a good way Yesterday evening Daisy got a plea from help from a 16 year old friend. She couldn't deal with it. Basically and without too many details ... he has had a troubled home life and his health has also not been too good. Indeed, he only came out of hospital after surgery for a ruptured appendix on Wednesday. Last evening (Thurs) his mother thought it'd be a good idea to kick him out and he really didn't have anywhere to go. I spoke with him for some time and it certainly appeared his need was quite high. So, I decided to do the right thing and he's now asleep in bed upstairs. I am totally bonkers because he wasn't living in Northampton but in Folkestone! He moved there with his family a month or so ago from Northampton. He's obviously in a lot of pain emotionally and physically. Of course, after having just driven around 300 miles, I am knackered. I reckon I did the right thing ... his mother is aware he is in Northampton, she see...
