Busy day

Visits to solicitors, visits to hospital, reading people telling lies I thought could be trusted to be honest, have friends and family over, not getting done what I needed to do. Had a big long fairly wasted meeting which has given me a lot of work but not enough substance for anything worth doing. On the plus side, Josh is fine On the plus side, everything legal is still very much on track albeit totally pointless and could be better dealt with during a couple of telephone calls Nobody, as far as I am aware, that I know, has died or seriously injured themselves. Another busy day tomorrow

I finally made a decision …

On the car! I today cancelled the Ford, I just didn’t see any point in constantly waiting for a car just for an extra third boot space. Instead I am doubling the boot space with the Renault Grand Scenic … The reality is, it is just the better car and for way less money. It has the room we need, it is a more normal feel, it is more powerful, it is more loaded with gadgets, no less economical and, almost certainly to arrive earlier than the Ford! How can I honestly have stuck with Ford for so long with such appalling service?         I have also completed all the essentials for the Disney holiday … and about damn time too! Am still negotiating on the possibility of me and Deej heading back to have a second honeymoon hopefully without being ill and without interruptions. Got to meet a friend for lunch today, that was certainly nice and good to catch up. Found out that my week is nearly entirely booked up now so barely any time to do anything for myself. Looking for

There are some funny people in this world!

Earlier on this year someone added me on Facebook. Quite soon she was adding many people I knew. We were starting to wonder who this was as there was so little on her profile. To be on the safe side and, suspecting it may be someone pretending to be someone else, I was careful what I wrote to them. Eventually, it did become very obvious it was someone faking a profile. I challenged them to stay if they wanted but, today they deleted the profile. I have never done anything to upset this person, I just exist. She added me and my family just to take the piss out of us and to try and get extra ammunition to use against my friends, it is all rather sad. Speaking of sad … Look, I fully understand that James has issues, what they are, I don’t have a clue but he has them and it is for Daisy and him to sort out. I think Daisy would have liked to sort it out between them but, it seems, they are going to have to take the legal route. I totally get all that. I don’t like it but – such is life.

If I were this government … and thankfully, I’m not

Right now I would be planning huge cuts in services across the board. I’d make thousands unemployed. Once the cost of running all those services is saved I’d invest some modest sums in charities which perform the same task on a smaller scale and, I’d encourage, with the use of volunteers, for them to expand to take up the slack. The charities could be a lot more ruthless on who they help meaning that a great many will never get the help they need but who can probably cope anyway. The staff to volunteer for all this extra work? Ah, this is the best part. A change in the law to abolish the minimum wage would not be tolerated but, it is what the government needs. What could happen is, all those out of work are told in no uncertain terms that they ‘volunteer’ and, for this they will be paid an amount the government decides is what they need to live on. They’ll have millions doing 35 hour weeks for a little over £1 and hour! Taxation will come from the consumer taxation of VAT which is al

Knackered (again)

My plan for the weekend involved lazing about Saturday and going with the flow Sunday. Well, Ex wife Kris, who was supposed to meet the family in town and provide lunch, went out on the piss Friday night and was too hung over to meet up so I was called in to the rescue. After that I had to do shopping, answer several phone calls, you know, the normal sort of lazing about I do! The kids all came back Saturday afternoon, I’d manage to grab a bit of sleep as I was totally shattered. We discussed various possibilities for holiday next year but, none of the options was really turning into a definite workable plan that didn’t upset someone. I reached the conclusion I was possibly missing the one possibility I had otherwise ignored, we don’t do a ‘family’ holiday at all but, instead, just me and Deej get away for a break to try and recharge our batteries. I know that will sideline several people and, that upsets me but, sometimes I have to remember that I have a life too and, am getting on

I’ve been up to things again!

I cut Alex’s hair earlier … I asked him to be brave, it is sort of radical! The Gatwick trip went well yesterday except for my being extra tired and nearly falling asleep several times on the way down which, incidentally, took under 2 hours for some reason! I had lunch in Tesco because I know all the best places and, went to McDonalds for a McNapp to try and stop myself falling asleep any more. Am very glad no one was sold for Camels, Anne looks stunning in her bikini pictures but, just like me, no matter how the body looks, it’ll never be good enough! They all look good with their suntans.

Grandchildren

I am so lucky to have both my grandchildren and am very thankful to all those who either help create them or raise them. Little Josh has been a misery these past few days but then, he does have his two front teeth coming through to join the other 4 he already has. Tomorrow I get to give Immy a hug, it’ll certainly be the highlight of my trip to Gatwick!

Silly things people say …

On the BBC this morning there was a piece on ‘The Cuts’ and one of the things which may be cut is the Post Bus, particularly one in the Yorkshire Dales. One man was being interviewed, a local business man who used the bus daily and he said … “The bus is essential. I mean, I can walk in the summer so that’s not so bad, but, in the winter when there is three foot of snow, that’s why I need the bus!” I am hoping, you, like me, are thinking … how the hell is the bus going to be any good in three feet of snow?

County Vulnerable Being Hit First

I know, I fully understand that the county council has to make some cut backs, to save money. I spoke to one of their representatives yesterday, a man from the transport department. He told me that certain cost cutting has been put in place already, cost cutting that, coincidentally will have a disproportionate impact on the least well off but that, other cuts, cuts which will effect the better off are ‘under review’ These are such things as cutting high up management, reducing the huge cost of salary to the ever increasing list of management they have. Here are some proposals and facts which the NCC has planned: Free school transport scrapped for the over 16’s and replaced with a 50% reduction. This is an increase in costs to the least well off of £160 each year. In the pipeline is the same thing to SEN pupils which was brought in but later put on hold (deferred) as a result of complaints from the public. The spokesman said that they shall have another meeting after a consultatio

I was in Church earlier

Well, I was there and what was said sort of made sense. Basically, we each have choices, fundamentally we are meant to worship God but that the act of worship should not be our driving force, doing the right thing should. She gave an example … if Jesus was around now and, hypothetically, his mother was in hospital, would he go to church of visit his mother? The answer, she said, was obvious, he’d visit his mother. The moral there is, there is no point trusting in God to give us the right answer if we then ignore what our inner self tells us to do waiting for God to sort something! Just maybe we are missing the point. If we feel something is the right thing to do then, quite possibly, THAT, is what God wants us to do. She also said, if we know our children are doing wrong, do we sit by and allow them to do it hoping God will show them the way or, do we accept that God made us their parents so that we should have the wisdom to show them the way? We should not expect miracle interve

Monochrome

Life, is not, black and white and, it never was! No one has to give up one set of friends to have another set of friends or, give up one side of the family to join another. We are designed with a limitless amount of love, plenty to go around all the people we value. If someone tries to tell us, “it has to be them or me” then, we should always choose ‘them’. Our real friends would never make us choose. I find too many younger people think in black and white, if we don’t agree with them then, we hate them, if we agree with them, we love them, there is no room for the complications of life such as, we still love them just don’t much like them at the moment. Guys and girls of the younger generation, think multi coloured, life is rarely ever monochrome!

Had a great day today!

Today was our first day of having Immy here for the day. We were not entirely on our own as we also had Alex and Sean around but, it gave us a sample of what it will be like and we loved it! View Full Album

Tired but …

Happy things are now moving toward a more stable future. Hopefully, this time next year we’ll have all the legal stuff sorted and we can get on with life with a degree of normality!
