Time Warp

Having waited 9 months for a decision on Jermaine's appeal we now have something and it's classic ... 'Because of an error or omission on the 'statement of reasons' the appeal has been struck off and will need to be heard by a fresh tribunal panel." In case that isn't clear it means that everything we have already done over the previous 12 months is scrapped and we start again. If I have to look for a positive to this it would be that the appeal does not now have to take 2 years but could be sorted in a few months ... though not if past experience is anything to go by. At least I am currently at work so have been able to discuss with those wot know!

Have a little 'Respect'

I was really sad to learn that Respect Holidays had gone bust. If ever a company deserved support to keep going it is that one. If I win Euro Millions this Friday I am buying the company and keeping it going because it is so rare to find a group of people so dedicated to their customers. Updating the saga of my car ... the final bill was £350 which is a lot less than expected but, I suspect, just keeping the car ticking over until the next time. I still noticed a slight rattle on start up earlier suggesting this dephaser pulley issue has not gone away and, from what I have read, may have caused the failures I have just paid to have repaired. That being the case I could be back here again with an expensive bill in a month or two. Whilst that start up rattle is there I also cannot sell it as any potential buyer is likely to notice it. Will test it over the next few days to see how it goes. Not news because it has not happened and is still in the serious thought stage but I am near certai...

CAR CHARGE ESTIMATION LESS THAN EXPECTED There was a phone call received by this office earlier on today by someone we shall call 'the man' confirming rumours that the coils have had it and the plugs are not sparking. It is estimated that the company loss will be around £400 though analysts suspect this figure may rise. THEATRE VISIT NEARLY MISSED, SHOCK REVELATION In a shock move today the stage play 'Witches of Eastwick' jumped forward one day resulting in a near miss. It was previously reported that the play would present itself on Friday but a source inside the theatre quoted that the tickets had been miss read by one Rupert Hontong Brewup and were indeed valid for Thursday. It was shear luck the error was discovered by Dame Stephanie Willibums of Northamberton in time for the evenings performance. COMPUTER GLITCH WASTES HOURS Technicians today discovered a glitch in the main frame of the company hyper text mark up language which caused erroneous results when views ...

Not much news

Still have no idea about the car, I have to wait until tomorrow for that. A case of sitting down when they tell me and having a dark room on hand for after they tell me. Jermaine has a hospital visit to see a neurologist. I have been told that he has exhausted all the medication available to him. He's been referred to a specialist centre in Leicester but I have been told to expect no new news. The doctor said it is a case of things will hopefully stay as they are not getting worse until Jermaine eventually has had one seizure too many then that, will be that. The website www.kagoul.com I have left. It was very tiresome and unpleasant. Continued membership was pointless. Work is great but frustrating, old software etc! (unpaid work)

There is someone 'up there' with an evil sense of Humour

I swear that as far as bad luck goes I have to be one of those who simply attract it or, as is probably the case and assuming there is some higher place, someone 'up there' is taking the bleedin' piss! Yesterday my home server started to die. It took me a fair while to narrow that one down to a dud graphics card. Thankfully I had a spare in the attic. You know I have these issues with the car? Yeah, well, they just got a whole lot worse. Driving earlier on and the car started to shudder at the lights. Then it was sluggish pulling away and a few moments later there was a thump and warning light saying 'check gearbox'. Well, I guess that probably means my gearbox is fooked and, even if it isn't I have to throw another £90 away to get Renault to diagnose the problem. If this one comes back without needing a £1000+ repair I would be shocked. With the DLA appeal for Jermaine it turns out that once again the tribunal service have screwed up and it's been sitting o...

September already (2008)

We started September with an excellent weekend. First we finally got around to visiting friends in Essex. I suspected we'd get along but the reality was that we got on very well indeed and had a great time.I always feel a relationship is working if all parties to it can happily take the piss out of each other and that's what we did. The Saturday saw us collecting the girls from their week long stay with grandparents then heading directly down to Kent to visit Dad & Kath. The weather was lovely and warm and we spent a totally enjoyable day chatting, eating and walking along the prom. That evening we met and stayed with yet more friends, Steve & Rosie. They are a great couple ... for a pleasant change, totally straight. Faversham, where they live, had a hop festival on and it'd would have been wrong of me not to have drunk the local brew and very nice it was too, proper beer. On Sunday we went into Faversham again for yet more beer and then over to Canterbury. We rema...
