Well, we’re back!

Firstly, fuel prices … France £1 a ltr – UK £1.25 a ltr! Are we being totally ripped off there or what?

On other comparisons … once we got away from totally piss take rip off Disney, the prices in France are quite reasonable and certainly no more than the UK … as for Disney itself, boy does that company know how to take the piss on prices … a small coffee, and I mean, barely bigger than espresso size in a paper cup £1.70! A basic cheeseburger is around £7! A 2ltr bottle of Coke at £2.70. The whole place is crazy on expense. To make matters worse, they also have no respect for their customers. The theme park entry price is the same every day and yet, during the week the amount of closed attractions, some of them big or new attractions, is astounding! These are not planned maintenance closures but money saving exercises. If the ride is closed then they don’t have to pay the staff to operate it making huge savings across the park. It’s a very bad practise which only leaves a bitter taste with customers who feel they are being promised rides Disney have no intention of operating during the week.

We managed to have a good time though despite this, we normally do. It was cold, bitterly cold. The temperature never raised about -2°C all week and on Thursday and Friday fell to -5°C and those are daytime not at night which was much colder!

By the end of the week we had over 4” of snow settle

It was really pretty though and made for some interesting pictures.

I shall try and post more messages later when I have time. Right now I am off to the hospital again to get some new moulds done for my hearing aids

Budget Day

So, we have the ‘Let’s buy a whole host of gullible voters day’ with George Osborne. No doubt we’ll be told how employment is rising, how the deficit is falling, how we’re all so much better off now than we were (compared to what?). We’ll be told that there are still tough times ahead but that only a Conservative government can steer us through them. It will be pointed out how inflation remains low, how not raising duty on fuel has helped everyone as is seen by the current lower prices at the pumps (it’s going up again George). In short, I should listen to this budget later and decide to vote Conservative in May but, I won’t. Labour certainly did nothing to avoid the mess the country got in but they didn’t cause it. Oh dear

The good news is that it could possibly be Jermaine will be moved into his lovely new flat within 6 weeks. Matt is another story. His apology earlier was rather pathetic. He's still not really said sorry to either Daisy or Deej and, indeed, seems to think saying sorry to anyone is more important than being with his mates. He has a set of rules now, in writing and he's been told that if he deviates from it just once he best have somewhere else to live. We shall see. I don't hold out much hope but there is still a little inside of me, I need to believe there is good in him ... for now. Car - still not sold Looked at Nick's new place the other day. It's small but not so much as I feared it may be and could be made to look real nice with a little effort and thought. I know how I'd do it but it's up to Nick how he does it and I am looking forward to seeing the end result. Loads of work still to do at Robin's of course but at least he is up and running again o...

Totally Bonkers

That's me ... but in a good way Yesterday evening Daisy got a plea from help from a 16 year old friend. She couldn't deal with it. Basically and without too many details ... he has had a troubled home life and his health has also not been too good. Indeed, he only came out of hospital after surgery for a ruptured appendix on Wednesday. Last evening (Thurs) his mother thought it'd be a good idea to kick him out and he really didn't have anywhere to go. I spoke with him for some time and it certainly appeared his need was quite high. So, I decided to do the right thing and he's now asleep in bed upstairs. I am totally bonkers because he wasn't living in Northampton but in Folkestone! He moved there with his family a month or so ago from Northampton. He's obviously in a lot of pain emotionally and physically. Of course, after having just driven around 300 miles, I am knackered. I reckon I did the right thing ... his mother is aware he is in Northampton, she see...
